A Busy Year At the ABCtrust

The ABCtrust has been very busy this year continuing to support our first project in Uganda, the Kyasira Home of Hope orphanage.

Since the opening in February 2013, Adrian returned to Africa to ensure that orphanage has the continued support and infrastructure in place to protect and educate the children.

A new external kitchen was built to assist with the growing number of children attending the orphanage.

We hope that Kyasira Home of Hope will become almost self sufficient. Funds were made available to purchase livestock such as chicken and cows.

New sheds were built to contain the animals. The children and Sisters are rapidly becoming excellent farmers!

As well as the cow shed, the chickens were given a new home.

We are all extremely proud of the Sisters and especially the children who are happy, healthy, and being taught new skills both in the school and outside of the orphanage.

Finally, a quick hello from the children…

Progress continues apace! – August 2012

We are delighted to report further rapid progress in the construction phase of the new Kyasira Orphanage.

As you can see in the pictures below the entire foundations have been completed and the outer wall is now four feet high!

Reports from Kyasira from Sister Gemma are overwhelmingly positive. Mr Kalanda Managing Director of Kwewayo Contractors has ensured construction is progressed as rapidly as possible without any interruption to the Sisters or children currently resident in the old buildings.

We are hoping to see the new orphanage completed and occupied before Christmas 2012.

We are very grateful to Mr Kalanda and his entire team of builders for the first class job that they are doing! Well done Kwewayo Contractors..

Best wishes from Adrian
